Online first aid courses

Cameroon's Labour Code (Law No. 92/007 of 14 August 1992, arts. 95 and 98) and Order No. 039/MTPS/IMT of 26 November 1984 require employers to provide trained first-aid personnel and evacuation equipment, but set a general duty of provision rather than a fixed first-aider ratio. Oversight sits with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MINTSS) Labour Inspectorate and the National Social Insurance Fund (CNPS).

Cameroon's Decree No. 2017/0837/PM of 19 January 2017 on crèches and day-care centres places medical follow-up with health personnel in the technical supervision unit (art. 18) and requires each facility to sign an agreement with a health centre for emergencies (art. 23). It sets no numerical ratio of first aiders, with oversight by the Ministry in charge of the promotion of the family (MINPROFF).

As a civil-law jurisdiction, Cameroon imposes an affirmative duty to assist under the Penal Code (Law No. 2016/007 of 12 July 2016), Section 283 — 'Failure to render assistance' — binding everyone, not only professionals. Failure to help a person in danger of death or serious harm is punishable by 1 month to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of 20,000 to 1,000,000 CFA francs, and no AED liability protection is provided.

In Cameroon, nurses and other medical-health professionals are governed by the Ordre des Professions Médico-Sanitaires (OPMS), which oversees registration and conduct, with no national mandatory continuing-education hours standard tied to license renewal. Keeping CPR and first-aid skills current is nonetheless expected and largely employer-driven, and is met by any recognized continuing-education activity on an eligible topic.

In Cameroon, care for older and vulnerable adults is delivered mainly through home-based care, private retirement homes and care centres, where the first-aid requirement is driven by the employer rather than a single national residential-care standard. A recognized, up-to-date first-aid and CPR certificate — in addition to the care worker's occupational training and renewed periodically — is the usual way to meet it.

Family placement and guardianship in Cameroon fall under the Ministère des Affaires sociales (MINAS), which assesses the home and receives periodic reports; no text explicitly names first aid, but a current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected. It is one element of readiness in addition to the social assessment, kept current and never a substitute for it.

Online CPR and first aid training is recognized in Cameroon: the regulation requires first-aid personnel without prescribing a training mode, so online theory followed by a practical assessment of skills is accepted. Certification is valid for 3 years and the content is built on the ILCOR 2025 Consensus on Science.
