The first-aid requirement

In Cameroon, placing a child outside their family falls under the Ministère des Affaires sociales (MINAS), which oversees guardianship and the follow-up of children in care. The framework emphasizes the family's good character, resources and capacity to ensure the child's health and education; no text explicitly names first aid, but a current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected so carers can respond to injuries, choking or cardiac arrest.

Follow-up is carried out by MINAS social services, which assess the home and receive periodic reports. A first-aid certificate is one element of readiness — kept current — in addition to the assessment and expected parenting skills, and never a substitute for them.
